Recombinant full-length human PKC beta II was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. PKC beta II is a member of the protein kinase C (PKC) family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and second messenger, diacylglycerol, and phosphorylate a wide variety of protein targets known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways. PKC beta II has been reported to be involved in many different cellular functions such as B cell activation, apoptosis induction, endothelial cell proliferation and intestinal sugar absorption. Kinase Enzyme System contains: Kinase: PKC beta II, 10ug (Human, recombinant full-length). MW: ~105kDa. Substrate: CREBtide (KRREILSRRPSYR); derived from human CREB1 isoform A (amino acid 109-121). Other: Reaction Buffer, DTT, Lipid solution. PKC beta II NCBI Database Entry: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/5579/.
