Recombinant human DCAMKL1 (amino acids 266-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 cells using an N-terminal GST tag. DCAMKL1 or doublecortin-like kinase 1 contains two N-terminal doublecortin domains (which bind microtubules and regulate microtubule polymerization), a C-terminal serine/threonine protein kinase domain (which shows substantial homology to Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase), and a serine/proline-rich domain in between the doublecortin and the protein kinase domains (which mediates multiple protein-protein interactions). Kinase Enzyme System contains: DCAMKL1 Kinase, 10ug (Human, recombinant; amino acids 266-end). MW: ~80kDa. Autocamtide-2 Substrate (1mg/ml), (KKALRRQETVDAL-amide), derived from the autophosphorylation site (amino acid 283-290) on CaMKII. 5X Reaction Buffer, 2.5M MnCl2, 0.1M DTT.
