Recombinant human RET/PTC1, the fusion protein [CCDC6 (1-101)-RET (713-end)], was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. RET/PTC1 is a fusion of RET and the activating CCDC6 gene by intrachromosomal paracentric inversions in chromosome 10. Likes RET/PTC3, it is the most frequent RET rearrangements in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), especially in radiation-induced tumors.
