Reliable detection of Legionella pneumophila in water supplies is important to prevent occurrence of Legionnaires? disease. Legionella testing is commonly performed using culture-based approaches, which often take 7-10 days. PCR-based detection is much faster, but it cannot differentiate between live and dead cells, which can possibly lead to false-positive results. The Legionella qPCR Kits combine the rapid protocols of PCR with the option to discriminate between live and dead cells for fast, sensitive and specific Legionella pneumophila detection. We also offer a multiplex kit that can detect Legionella spp., Legionella pneumophila and Legionella pneumophila Serogroup 1 in a single assay.
