Recombinant human fusion protein GOPC (amino acids 1-419)-ROS1 (amino acids 1881-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. GOPC gene encodes a Golgi protein with a PDZ domain. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms of GOPC have been found for this gene and GOPC gene locus is involved in translocations with other loci including c-ros oncogene 1 (ROS1) which result in the formation of the GOPC-ROS1 fusion protein that act as an oncogene.
