Recombinant human TYRO3 (455-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. TYRO3 receptor protein tyrosine kinase together with AXL and MER form the AXL/TYRO3 family of receptor tyrosine kinases. Members of this family play an essential role in spermatogenesis, immunoregulation, and phagocytosis. In addition to signal transduction, members of this family of receptor tryrosine kinases participate in cell adhesion.
