Preadipocytes are undifferentiated precursor fibroblast cells that develop into adipocytes when fully differentiated. Lonza's Human Preadipocytes are directly isolated from either subcutaneous or visceral fat from either normal, diabetic type I, or diabetic type II donors. For routineculturing, use Lonza's PGM™-2 BulletKit™ Medium, which includes both the basal medium and necessary supplements for both proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes.

Adult Stem Cells

An adult stem cell is an undifferentiated cell, found among differentiated cells in a tissue or organ.  Adult stem cells can renew themselves and differentiate to yield some or all of the major specialized cell types of the tissue or organ. Their main function is to multiply by celldivision to replenish dying cells and regenerate damaged tissues. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells of stromal origin.  MSCs are attractive for clinical therapy due to their ability to differentiate, provide trophic support, and modulate innate immune response.
